Since my original post - and all others from mid-August seems to have disappeared, I am going to re-post a picture of my Rans Alterra 29'er which I recently completed from a frameset. So far, so good, I like everything about it. I haven't taken it on any single-track yet but riding it off-road locally proves that it will be up to the task.

Sweet looking ride. Did you weigh the frame and fork before assembly. If you did and think it's okay, could you publish the number
