Took a bit longer then I hoped for, but it's now ready to roll : my new Alterra 29.
Routing the cable for the rear gear hub was a bit tricky, since the drop outs for the rear cables is positioned on the rear seat stays and not on the chain stays, as on the 700X.
But a couple of tiewraps took care of that :D

Nice looking bike! I know you had a hard time shipping it to Europe - glad it worked out.

Looks like you don't have a front-shock - is it not going to see rough terrain?

Hi Eric,

the Alterra 29 is my go-anywhere-bike I take with me on holidays, sometimes on rough terrain. I'm pretty sure that the Schwalbe Thunder Burts on the bike will soften rough terrain a bit. If it'll turn out to be too uncomfortable, I can always swap the straight fork for a suspension fork 8-)

Glad you were able to get it shipped to you. What IGH do you have on it?

Nice. Interesting handlebar setup. Wouldn't mind seeing a photo of that sometime.

@iambent : that's a Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub. I've been considering switching to the Alfine 11-speed (runs smoother since it has oil inside instead of grease like the 8-speed), but for now I'll keep the 8-speed.

@ Jeff : will this picture do ?
